6 days trekking with camels

This trekking starts from the village of Mhamid with a caravan of camels and nomadic people in order to reach, across the Oued Drâa, the tomb of Sidi Naji at the end of day. We stop for lunch in the shade of the Tamarisk trees. In the afternoon, we arrive in the place of the dunes and the tomb of Sidi Naji. The we enjoy the sunset, set up the camp, prepare dinner etc. We spend the evening around fire and under the stars.

After breakfast, we repack the stuff on the camels and we go towards the Zmila dunes. We make a break lunch and then we walk until to find a nice place to spend the rest of the day and the night. We enjoy eating lunch, getting rest and running over the dunes to watch the sunset. At night, we sit around fire and discover how to make a bread in the sand. We sleep in tents, or under stars.

This 3rd day, we leave in the morning, and take the way so we can join the big dunes of Erg Zahar. Around 3 hours there is between both places. Once we arrive in the big dunes, we eat lunch, get rest and then go walking at the top of the big dunes. From the top you have a beautiful view and may also see the Algerian border ! In the late afternoon we set up the camp and start to enjoy the evening.

From Erg Zahar to Erg Esmar, we cross the river called the valley of Drâa and we can see an old nomadic village where no one lives anymore.

After breakfast, we continue to walk to the Nbak Boughabra dunes.

On the last day of trekking, we return to M'hamid, having our last lunch in a tamarisk shadow. The arrival in the village is at the end of the afternoon.
